More Than a Walk: Jollof+ Brings Fitness, Fun, and Community to Streets Across Nigeria

Last Saturday, it wasn’t just Lagos that came alive; cities across Nigeria felt the energy.

Jollof+, the flagship brand of Baobab Microfinance Bank, hosted a nationwide fitness walk across its 38 branches, turning ordinary streets into spaces of movement, connection, and shared purpose. From Lagos to other key locations, including Kaduna, Lagos, Ibadan, Kano, Uyo and other branches where the bank resides, the initiative brought together communities in a way that felt both refreshing and intentional.

In Lagos, participants walked from Baobab’s newly unveiled Head Office on Ikorodu Road to Yaba College of Technology. But this was just one part of a much bigger picture unfolding simultaneously across the country.

In a nation where the daily hustle rarely slows down, Jollof+ created a moment for people to pause, move, and reconnect, not just with their health, but with a growing community of like-minded individuals.

From early morning, participants gathered across different locations, dressed in sporty fits and ready to show up. What followed was a vibrant display of energy, music, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness, as groups walked through their respective cities, each contributing to a shared national experience.

For many, it was more than just fitness. It was a reminder that building a better life goes beyond finances; it includes physical well-being, community, and consistency. And that’s exactly what Jollof+ is about: supporting people not just to save money, but to build better habits overall.

Along the various routes, the energy was contagious. Passersby stopped to watch, some even joined in, turning the walks into moving celebrations of wellness and connection in different parts of the country.

In Lagos, the route from the new Head Office located at No. 129 Ikorodu Road to Yabatech carried its own symbolism, connecting Baobab’s new chapter with a youthful, energetic community. Across other states, similar stories played out, each location reinforcing Baobab’s commitment to staying close to the people it serves.

At its core, Jollof+ app is designed to help Nigerians build a savings culture in a way that feels simple and rewarding. But beyond the app, experiences like these show a brand that is intentional about real-life engagement, meeting people where they are, and creating moments that matter.

Saturday’s nationwide walk was a reflection of that vision. It brought together customers, fitness enthusiasts, and everyday Nigerians in a shared experience that blended health, lifestyle, and financial awareness, without feeling forced.

And more importantly, it showed that this movement is bigger than one city. With more community-driven initiatives expected, Jollof+ is steadily positioning itself as more than just a financial platform; it’s becoming a lifestyle companion for Nigerians who are intentional about growth, wherever they are in the country.
